The station opened in 1884 under the name of the station LOTS .
It should be noted that the station of that name existed on the left bank since 1873. LOTS - so called first station Nizhnedneprovsk relating to Lozovo then -Sevastopol railway.She was the only one that served the center of the province and thus received its name.
When the railway was built from the station to Dolinskaya Ekaterinoslav, and on the right bank were constructed building of the station and service station buildings , the new station was named LOTS , and which had the same name , was renamed the station Nizhnedneprovsk - at their location.
July 20, 1926 Resolution of the Presidium of the USSR Central Executive Committee was renamed LOTS of Dnipropetrovsk and in the same year the same name given to a railway station.
During the war the station building was demolished and in its place by the architect A. Dushkin in 1951, erected the building of a new station.
