VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy) , in recent years, renamed VVC ( All-Russian Exhibition Centre), has a special place in the Russian capital. As in the pre-perestroika times, OCE attracts tens of thousands of people from all over Russia , CIS and foreign countries .OCE - this exhibition ground , and a green recreation area, and a huge shopping mall.
The unique shape of this once -Union exhibition formed for decades. The exhibition, which was called the first Agricultural Exhibition (All-Union Agricultural Exhibition ), opened in northern Moscow, the Ostankino August 1, 1939 .The exhibition represents the whole city area of 136 hectares with a large park, ponds, pavilions and numerous farm buildings. In total, it included 250 large and small buildings. From the main entrance arch broad avenue led to the main pavilion .Located near the 52- hmetrovaya tower with 13-meter statue of the tractor and collective farmers were holding a sheaf of wheat over the head . This sculpture was the emblem of the Agricultural Exhibition . Along the perimeter of a rectangular area of farms were erected pavilions Soviet republics. The exhibition was remarkably successful. From August 1 to October 25, 1939 it was visited by over 3.5 million people.
From 1941 to 1954 Agricultural Exhibition was closed, and in 1954 was the reconstruction of the exhibition. VSHV territory expanded to 207 hectares, increased the number of buildings up to 383, a new entrance to the exhibition is conveniently linked to the subway . In addition to an octagonal square Mechanization has been created yet another octagonal area at the main pavilion.They tied up two fountains - Friendship of Peoples and The Stone Flower . Pavilions , built in those years differed emphasized monumentality and excessive pomposity.

In the 1960s, 1980s, ENEA is a unique spectacle of its magnitude . Here were shown all the scientific and industrial achievements of the USSR, were international exhibitions and fairs. Bypass all ENEA one day it was simply impossible : the length of the alleys was about 65 km . And the tourists were taken to show vans.In the summer the entire exhibition area was transformed into a huge garden. There have been visitors to attractions , dance terrace , air theater , two summer cinema. On the output disc exhibitions were held during the winter riding on the Russian troika . Exhibition at the northern entrance stood the famous statue of VladimirFly Worker and Collective Farm , created for the Soviet pavilion at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937 .
In 1989, ENEA has been transformed into the Union , and since 1992 - All-Russian Exhibition Centre ( VVC). VVC is now successfully combines business and educational activities .Many of the pavilions of the exhibition center leased to commercial firms .
VVC remains the largest and most visited exhibition and trade fair complex country, which has traditionally presented samples of the achievements of the economy, science and culture of Russia and CIS countries.
