Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg - an outstanding work of Russian classicism of the late XVIII century.

Today the palace is the headquarters of the Interparliamentary Assembly of States - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States. It is also the St. Petersburg branch of the Interstate TV and Radio World .
Ornate facades modesty and simplicity of the Tauride Palace contrasted with exceptional luxury and magnificence of interior decoration. For the main lobby - ornate stucco rotunda , combined with a wide aperture white-columned hall, open for a double colonnade of which has a winter garden.The ceremonial room ( Picture Hall , Tapestry Living room , Chinese room) partially preserved the artistic decoration (polychrome painting walls and ceilings , fireplaces, stoves braces ).
After the Great Patriotic War, the Tauride Palace was refurbished , and until 1990 it housed the Leningrad Higher Party School (draft adaptation of the building - architect IG Kaptsyug ).
Now the Tauride Palace is the headquarters of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS member states .
