Transfiguration Cathedral - one of the cathedral of the Diocese of Dnipropetrovsk (formerly Yekaterinoslav ) Ukrainian Orthodox Church , consecrated in honor of the Transfiguration. Completed construction in the classical style in 1835 by Archbishop Gabriel ( Rozanov ).
The first draft was approved by the council in 1786, laying the first stone in a solemn ceremony conducted by the Empress Catherine II of the Russian Empire and Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II. But building on the foundation of the cathedral did not go due to the outbreak of war the Russian Empire and Turkey.
1930-1988 : service in the cathedral had not been maintained .
1975-1988 : in the temple room housed a museum of religion and atheism.
