University buildings are located in different parts of the city .The highest concentration is observed at Basil Island (aka Vasileostrovskiy educational complex ) , which hosts the historic main building of University ( Twelve Colleges building ), and in Old Peterhof ( Petrodvorets educational complex ).
Today, St. Petersburg University, studying more than 32 thousand students in 323 majors for 22 faculty, with nearly 14,000 employees, about 6000 teachers (1000 PhDs, more than 2000 candidates , 42 state academies of Academician ) representatives of the 289 chairs.
