The park opened in 1981, the park area of 30 hectares , and in a place with a set of National Museum of the Great Patriotic War - about 40 hectares. In the center of the complex stands a colossal statue of Motherland . Height of the monument together with the pedestal is 102 m and weighs 530 tons . The park is well known for its flower shows .Song Festival Grounds concerts and festivals in the open. Cascade of stairs leads to the Embankment of the Dnieper.
