Palazzo Madama , a palace complex in Turin, built on the site of an ancient Roman camp with fortifications at that time. The facade of the palazzo , which was completed in 1721 - Northern Italian Baroque pattern dryish in the treatment of Filippo Yuvarra .The back side of the building remains a dark image of a medieval castle , with round towers at the corners, which it acquired in the XV century.
At various times, the palace was the residence of the younger branch of House of Savoy , regent widowed (hence the name ), to accommodate guests of the reigning monarch , as the location of the Royal Art Gallery, Piedmont Parliament and Supreme Court.Since 1934, the building is placed in a museum of ancient art, particularly rich in artifacts from Gandhara .
Among other residences Palazzo Madama Savoy is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site .
