Ostrog Slavonic-Greek- Latin Academy - the first in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, higher education institution. Founded in 1576 by Prince Constantine of Ostrog , Basil and Princess Galshkoy Ostrog ( in the park near the castle , where the Academy, a memorial sign). Fedorov opened the pioneer with her in 1580printing plant, where it was first published ABC and the famous Ostrog Bible . The first rector was Mr. Smotritskii . Among the graduates - Hetman , Sagaidachnogo Nalivaiko brothers and others in 1624 , after founding the Jesuit Collegium in jail , academy funding ceased in 1636 it was disbanded. Revived in 1994as a state university. Now occupies the premises of the former Trinity Monastery with the Church of the Capuchins (1778) . Works Museum Academy, there are excursions to the dungeons of the monastery, where the burial crypt discovered by monks.
