This archaeological materials , unique things Cossack era , household items of various social strata of past centuries, period furniture , a library , which has several hundred books of XVIII - XIX centuries , the documentary centers, in particular, the well-known noble families , the collection of folk embroidery , musical instruments ,among which the largest is the collection and kobza banduras , paintings of talented artists Mirgorod separately, examples of folk painting in the late XIX - first half of the twentieth century ,

The museum staffed mainly on the basis of assembly, which in the early 20s of the twentieth century, partly preserved in the estates . For decades, the museum was enriched by many new collections. The museum exposition presents visitors with a part of this heritage.

 

Mirgorod museum today - one of the most important research centers for regional local history . During the last decade in search-and- materials research carried out 14 publications historical and regional character, dedicated to the well-known figures of the edge of N. Gogol , D. Guramishvili , I.Gurin and others, some are devoted to half-forgotten names and newly discovered .

 

The Museum holds a large exhibition and mass- educational activities, promotes the artistic creativity of contemporary artists and artists of the past , provides scientific guidance to the many public museums.
