and Meriliz Muir - the Russian Trading House ( 1857-1922 ). Also called its flagship store in Moscow on Petrovka. Muir founded the company and Meriliz Scots Archibald and Andrew Muir Meriliz . They settled in Russia in the first half of the XIX century and in the 80s from St. Petersburg moved to Moscow.

After the revolution, and Muir Meriliz nationalized.Co-owner of a trading house for nearly fifty years of his head , in which the company reached the peak of his power - Philip Walter , was fired.

The building took on Petrovka Mostorg , and later the Central Department Store ( CUM ), open to the public March 10, 1922 .
