Annunciation Monastery - founded in the early XIII century , the oldest monastery in Nizhny Novgorod. Located in the Nizhny Novgorod region on the right bank of the Oka River near its confluence with the Volga.
Before the Revolution, the monastery was revered list of the Korsun Mother of God .The inscription on the chasuble made in two languages, Slavic and Greek reads: The image of this was written in the summer of 6501 (903) , Simeon priest . In the restored temple of St. Alexis in 2007, was installed porcelain iconostasis . Porcelain is the iconostasis in several churches in Moscow, on Valaam, in Yekaterinburg. In Nizhny Novgorod, is the first experience of this installation in the church iconostasis.
