Lviv National Music Academy named after Mykola Lysenko - one of the oldest art institutions of higher education in Ukraine. Is subordinate to the Ministry of Culture and the Arts . The main building of Academy of Music is located in the heart of the city.Rector of the university is a professor of violin , People's Artist of Ukraine ( since 1998) Pilatyuk Igor .

 

In the 1820 's through the efforts of Franz Xaver Mozart (son of the composer ) was discovered singing Institute of St. Cecilia.On this basis, eventually emerged Galician Music Society (later converted to Polish music company), and in 1854 - Conservatory, gave rise to the current university . Since 1903, high school is named after Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko Kantorovich .

Notable alumni : Borozdin Alexei Ivanovich, Marcellina Sembrich , Solomiya Krushelnytska , Roman Palester , Ruslan, Oksana Bilozir , Taras Chubai , Jakub Roman.

 

Training Academy lasts 5 years . On average, the academy has about 750 students a day and correspondence courses .
