Abkhazian State Drama Theatre named Samson Chanba .

The theater was founded in 1931. In the theater company has 47 actors. In the current repertoire consists of 18 performances , 7 of them placed on the works of the Abkhaz authors .

Abkhazian State Drama teatrV 1993 theatrical show based on folk material was shown at The Hague (Netherlands) and in Dortmane (Germany).

 

The participated in international festivals in Bulgaria (Plovdiv , 2000) , Romania ( Sibiu , 2004-2005). .

 

Abkhazian State Drama Theatre has received the Grand Prix of the second and third festivals Scene Without Borders , held in Vladikavkaz in 2002-2003. In 2002, for the performance Makhaz ( F. Iskander ) in 2003 in the category for best performance ( Guarapsky clerk , M. Bgazhba ).

 

In 2004-2005, the theater took part in the International Festival White Tower (Brest , Belarus), and in 2003 he received the Grand Prix.

 

In the play The Suicide Abkhaz theater in 2005, won the Golden Diploma in nomination for the talented reading of modern prose drama at the III International Forum Golden Knight ( Mr.Minsk , Belarus).

 

Through cultural exchange in 2003, Theatre on tour visited the city of Montreux ( Switzerland).
