Over the centuries the castle was reconstructed several times and changed its owners - the members of chivalry and nobility of birth . Among them was the famous general Albrecht von Wallenstein . But perhaps the most famous owner was the heir to the Austro- Hungarian throne, Franz Ferdinand d' Este , Archduke and heir to the Habsburg throne. The first-born of Archduke Karl Ludwig , the younger brother of Emperor Franz Joseph was the nephew of the Emperor of Austria .

In 1914,archduke was assassinated in Sarajevo, members of a conspiratorial group Young Bosnia , which resulted in the First World War.

Under the terrace is south gallery of St. . Jiri with a unique collection of sculptures belonging to Franz Ferdinand Franz Ferdinand and the shooting range , built in 1900

During the season, the castle peacocks stroll , circling falcons, hawks, and in the castle's moat can be seen two bears - Masha and Casimir.

The uniqueness of the castle lies in the fact that it houses the largest collection in Europe, hunting weapons and hunting trophies , as well as enjoying a collection of paintings, furniture, glass and porcelain.
