Lions (from 1772 to 1918.- Lemberg) and historical and cultural center of Ukraine. Galicia is located in 70km from the border with Poland.

It was founded in the XIII century by Daniel Galicia , 1st King of Galich , Grand Prince of Kiev, a representative of Galician branch of the Rurik.

The historical center is included in UNESCO World Heritage List .

In the place of Lviv settlements existed since the V century BC. The first written mention of Lviv are 1256.
