Kremenets
Kremenets - an ancient city in the Ternopil region of Ukraine, Kremenets district administrative center . It was first mentioned in chronicles in 1227 Hypatian g in connection with the battle of Prince Daniel Romanovich of Volyn with the Hungarian king .

In the 1569g .as a result of the Union of Lublin , together with all Ukrainian lands, which were under the rule of Lithuania, Kremenets became part of a Joint Polish-Lithuanian power , called Rzeczpospolita .

In the beginning of the XVII century the town was built Monastery of the Epiphany , in which the Metropolitan Petro Mohyla in 1636 founded the fraternal school.
In autumn 1648 the Cossack colonel Maxim Krivonos came with an army to the castle and laid siege to Kremenetsky .In October , after a six-week siege and battles long the stronghold was taken , the Polish garrison was captured, and the castle was completely destroyed. The city lost its defensive significance , and fortress has not been restored . Today the castle from the ruins of the gothic tower Vrátna arch travel, remains of walls and tower over the new home .
