Krasnoyarsk

Krasnoyarsk - a city which is situated on both banks of the mighty Yenisei.

It is the administrative center of Krasnoyarsk Krai.

On the territory of Krasnoyarsk Territory is the second largest in Russia , it is comparable with the territory of several European countries such as France and Germany .

The city was founded by Cossacks in 1628, as a military fortified settlement ( jail ). In 1822 he became the administrative center of Krasnoyarsk Yenisei province , his place of exile of many political prisoners.

Today is the cultural and industrial center of Eastern Siberia.
